From lack of air conditioning to E. coli-riddled swimming events, Olympic athletes in Paris have faced a number of problems during this year’s Summer Games. But the latest uproar is the result of one athlete’s actions outside of competition.
According to this Associated PressAn Australian hockey player was arrested in Paris in the early morning hours of August 7 after officers witnessed an alleged drug deal. Authorities reported that the athlete was attempting to buy cocaine from a 17-year-old dealer.
The actor was later identified by the French newspaper Liberation Tom Craig, 28, is competing in his second Olympics after winning a silver medal with his team at the Tokyo Games. “Investigations into the quantity of drugs seized from the dealer have been entrusted to the drug squad,” police said in a statement. 9 News Australia“Both people are in police custody.”

The Australian Olympic Committee has announced that no charges have been laid against the player. After leaving the police station on the evening of August 7, Craig admitted what happened and expressed his remorse.
