REI kicked off September with a big Labor Day sale that saw shoppers get up to 40% off some of the season’s best camping gear from brands like Exped, Kuhl, and REI Co-op, but The North Face stood out with the most sought-after discounts. That included the brand’s ultra-popular Wawona 6 tent, which quickly sold out thanks to a significant discount. And while it’s still sold out today, savvy shoppers have noticed that its slightly smaller sibling, the Wawona 4 tent, is surprisingly back on sale for fall camping.

The four-person Wawona Tent , which usually retails for $400, is currently on sale for $280, a savings of 30%. This mid-size tent has received over 80 five-star ratings from shoppers who say they were “thrilled” to get the chance to use it. It’s currently available in two great colors, but only the Agave Green/Asphalt Gray is on sale. We’ve seen these tents sell out before, so be sure to grab yours while they’re in stock. If you miss out on one, the Coleman Skydome Darkroom Tent or the Big Agnes Big House Tent are worth checking out.

The larger and very popular Wawona 6 Tent has a large covered entrance that resembles a garage, while the Wawona 4 has a smaller covered area outside the tent that offers some space for storing gear. The interior can accommodate four people in total, but like any four-person tent, it will be more comfortable for two people, leaving room for stretching out and storing gear. The Wawona 4 also has plenty of pockets for books, headlamps and other small essentials, as well as a storage loop that’s ideal for hanging a camping lantern. The included raincoat will keep you dry on stormy days, while the generous vents will keep you cool on hot days.

Ease of setup was a big part of this tent’s appeal. “Easy to set up and take down,” one shopper said. “We use this as a quick car camping tent in the mountains of North Carolina.” Another wrote that it was “easy to set up for beginners” and added that there was “plenty of room for two people plus bags/suitcases.”

The Wawona 4’s spaciousness and comfort were also major selling points. “Very spacious,” one shopper said. “I bought it just for myself in the tent. Plenty of room for sleeping and gear… just what I wanted for my car camping needs.” “We were able to fit our queen-sized sleeping pad in the middle of the tent and still had room on either side for our gear,” another wrote.

Shoppers also found the tent to hold up to unpredictable weather conditions, with one user writing, “This tent stayed dry in a heavy downpour,” while another added, “The tent set up easily and stayed safe and dry in the pouring rain.”

Whether you’re camping with family and friends or flying solo, The North Face’s Wawona 4 Tent is a great option that’s easy to set up and weatherproof. Now that it’s back on sale, anyone who missed the Labor Day price is sure to grab one. If you want one for yourself, be sure to get it ASAP, because it’s likely to sell out soon.
