After approval Dexter: Resurrectionstar Michael C. Hall explains Dexter: Original Sin its sequel will improve the show. After the success of Showtime DexterHe reprized his role as the beloved serial killer in the 2013 film Hall. Dexter: New Bloodthis seemingly completed the character's story. Now, however, the prequel Dexter: Original Sin Set to follow a younger version of the character played by Patrick Gibson (although Hall returns as the narrator), Hall is set to return once again. During a recent interview EWHall touches on both Dexter shows, reveals Original Sin it will actually be useful to come back Resurrection. “The scripts they've come up with are fantastic. I can't wait to watch it as a fan and spend time seeing actual footage of what I'm trying to imagine for myself as an actor. I'm imagining the early days of Dexter. [were like]now I'll have this technicolor version of his memoir to reference. I think it will help inform my experience with everything to come in the other series, which I can only be vague about at this point.”

Original Sin and Resurrection Have the Potential to Feel Like Franchise Overload

The Dexter The season 8 finale was considered an unsatisfactory conclusion to Morgan's story, so much so that creator Clyde Phillips returned. New Blood In 2021, it seems that served as a bit of a fix. The Dexter: New Blood The ending sees Hall's character die at the hands of his own son and is divisive for his own reasons, but that certainly seemed like the last note in Dexter's story. It's too early to tell if these recastings will go down well with audiences, but each of the new actors has a tough task ahead of them. If both Original Sin and Resurrection are of high quality, it probably won't feel like a franchise burden, but if they can't live up to the previous seasons of the mothership show's heyday, it might feel like beating a dead horse a bit. Hopefully both Dexter: Original Sin and Dexter: Resurrection revitalize the franchise instead of aggravating it.
