The creators of Between us have announced increased funding for their new independent publishing label, Outersloth. Revealed during the Summer Games Festthe initiative has already signed 13 games, and now two major independent developers will provide additional funding and help review game proposals.
The first of the two developers contributing to Outersloth is Kill the Spire Creator Casey Yanoalong with a second independent developer who currently wishes to remain anonymous. Taking a blog articleVictoria Tran and Forest Willard from Innersloth explained what the additional funding and headcount means for the presentation.
“Nothing has changed. It just means we have even more money every year to fund the games. It's still mainly run by Forest and Victoria (hello)… but now Casey and [MYSTERY FRIEND] examine our proposals and finance everything that affects them. If a game is funded by one of them, we'll be sure to announce it with the appropriate credits so you know who chose what. But it will be the same deal, same terms, etc.”
Put a label on it
Outersloth's post goes on to say that a longer blog post will soon offer a 12-page analysis that delves into the financing process.
