An angry passenger was caught on savage video vandalising an American Airlines kiosk after reporting confusion over the authenticity of his booking, the Chilean outlet reported. Cooperative And New York Post reported.
The incident occurred Monday night at Santiago’s Nuevo Pudahuel Airport after a man identified as a construction worker attempted to check in for a flight to Miami, FL. The footage begins after a conversation in which an airline employee informs the suspect that his ticket is not valid and he cannot board the plane.
The angry passenger then pulled a hammer from his work bag and jumped onto the counter, unleashing a volley of punches at the wall-mounted televisions above him. After smashing the televisions, the man jumped off the counter and directed his anger at the computer monitors on the counter behind him.

In an interview with police, the passenger explained the reason for his angry outburst. He had apparently purchased a ticket through an unspecified online platform, and the reservation had failed to populate in American’s system, so the seat had technically not been sold to the suspect.
In a statement New Year PartyAmerican Airlines confirmed that Nuevo Pudahuel staff dealt with a “disruptive individual” in the check-in area. “We thank our team for their professionalism and apologize to our customers for any inconvenience,” a spokesperson said.
According to airport officials, the man caused about $20,000 worth of damage in total. The suspect was detained by airport security guards, who then handed him over to local police, known as Carabineros. He was seen by a judge on Wednesday, who banned the suspect from entering or approaching the area around the airport.
