Major outdoor apparel and gear sales from retailers like REI, Huckberry, and even Amazon have come and gone this summer, but Patagonia has stepped up to the plate with its own sale event offering shoppers up to 40% off popular shorts, sun hoodies, and even legendary fleece layers this fall through September 2.
The sale features nearly 350 styles for men, including best-sellers like Patagonia’s Baggies shorts and the ever-popular Refugio Daypack, as well as basics like technical T-shirts and all-season baselayers. Even though it’s summer, Patagonia’s outerwear, like the Nano Puff jacket, Torrentshell raincoats, and a ton of fleece, are still a big part of the sale, giving shoppers a chance to stock up before newer, full-priced styles drop. Men's Magazine When we browsed Patagonia's summer sale selection, we found five styles worth adding to your cart right away.
Patagonia Nano Puff Jacket Forge Gray, $167 (was $239) at Patagonia
Patagonia’s Nano Puff jacket is one of the brand’s most iconic lightweight three-season jackets. Windproof and water-resistant, this quilted, lightly insulated jacket has a tremendous warmth-to-weight ratio and easily packs down when not in use—a handy feature for travelers looking for better lumbar support during flights. This Nano Puff jacket is available in seven colors and sizes XS to 3XL.
What Shoppers Say: “This jacket is probably my favorite piece of gear. I'm currently on my second jacket and my second Nano Puff vest. I work in the Northern Rockies often and this is always on me or in my bag as my emergency layer.”

Patagonia Capilene Cool Daily Graphic Hoody Lago Blue X-Dye, $48 at Patagonia (was $69)
Sun hoodies are all the rage right now among fishermen, construction workers, hikers, and more because they provide breathable protection from the sun without having to slather your entire body in sunscreen. This one from Patagonia takes that a step further with its high collar and deep hood that extends all the way to the brim of the hat. These hoodies sell out fast in both regular and relaxed fits, so if you find one that fits you, snatch it up fast.
What Shoppers Say: “These shirts breathe nicely on a hot day and have good sun protection. They also don't seem to trap body odors in the fabric… They're big (large) for me — I'm 6'3 and 180 pounds — but they're comfortable to wear for hiking, biking, and stand-up paddleboarding.”

The 6.5-inch inseam will hang a few inches above the knee for most guys—the ideal length for running, impromptu swims, and everyday wear. Combine that with the water-repellent coating, quick-drying fabric, and the fact that it packs into its own pocket, and you’ve got yourself a summer staple. They’re available in sizes XS to 2XL, but they’re selling out fast.
What Shoppers Say: “So much better than standard Baggies… I wear them all day without realising it. It's also nice to be able to jump in the water whenever you want.”

Vests from Patagonia’s Retro X, Retro Pile, and Nano Puff collections are also on sale.
