Patrick Mahomes has certain rituals he maintains for peak game-day performances, like wearing matching underwear for good luck, and his pre-game meals are just as important.
Kansas City Chiefs star's wife, Brittany Mahomes, spoke about her husband's game-day food during an appearance on Aug. 28. Uupup podcast. “There are certain things he eats,” he said. “On game day, like a grilled chicken sandwich with fries and ketchup.”
This isn't the only high-calorie meal he's been known to eat before a big game. “Previous [years]”It used to be something like a cheeseburger, but it's come a long way,” he said.
Of course, when he's on the road or not at home, Mahomes eats what's given to him. If he's with his family before a game, he doesn't deviate from his regular meal.
“The night before games, he's not usually home, so he'll be at a hotel or an away hotel. And so they'll give him dinner,” Brittany explained. “But if he's home on game day, he'll get a grilled chicken sandwich with fries every day.”
The diet is clearly working for Mahomes, who won his third Super Bowl ring in four years and the MVP title earlier this year. It remains to be seen whether he will change what he eats before games this season.
