Patrick Mahomes Sr. Sets Sobriety Milestone After DWI Arrest

Patrick Mahomes Sr. is celebrating reaching a major milestone on his path to sobriety following his arrest for DWI shortly before the Super Bowl last February.

On Tuesday, the father of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes posted an update to his personal Instagram, letting fans know he's been sober for six months. “I want to thank God, my wife, my family, and my friends for the six months I spent on the sunny side of the tracks,” Mahomes Sr. wrote. “I know it's hard to get to know sober Pat, but it's worth it.”

The 53-year-old father of three also honored his wife in the post, expressing his gratitude for helping him on his sober journey. “Trisha Mahomes, thank you for everything you do,” Mahomes Sr. wrote.
