WARNING: Contains potential spoilers for POWER GIRL #12!Power Girl rumored to be getting a powerful upgrade with a massive weapon that immediately sets it apart from the rest of DC's Krypton family. The Super Family rarely relies on physical weapons because they are practically living weapons. Whether or not this huge new accessory will be a permanent addition to Paige Stelter's design is yet to be seen, but it does lead to an interesting idea for DC's upcoming Absolute Universe launch.

In preview for Leah Williams, Travis Moore and Sebastian Cheng's Power Girl #12, Paige goes on a date with the mysterious Axel Gust in the mythical realm of Asgard. Although it is uncertain whether the date will be successful, cover hints at an interesting addition to Power Girl's arsenal: a large long axe.

This new weapon takes center stage on the main cover by Yanick Paquette and Arif Prianto, and has fans anticipating the August 28, 2024 release to see if the ax will play a significant role in the story or if it's just a stunning visual. cap.

Power Girl's Mysterious (and Possibly Backstabbing) Encounter Gives Her an Asgardian Ax

Power Girl #12 color cover

Paquette and Prianto's cover features the mystery of the ax and Power Girl's romance with Axel in an intriguing way.It depicts an Asgardian kneeling before Paige and presenting her with a large weapon. The suggestive pose is likely a deliberate choice by the artists. Note that Paige appears to have accepted the ax, as she is shown holding it after taking it from Axel when he offers it. This could indicate that their relationship is moving in a positive direction and that Paige has forgiven him for the disaster of their first date, or it could just be a red herring.

Coincidentally, it's interesting that Paige's potential love interest has a very similar name to the weapon she's given. This similarity raises questions about whether Axel's character is more important than we think. Until August 28th, this is all just speculation. However, if Paige were to adopt the longaxe and incorporate it into their heroics, it would set her apart significantly from the rest of the Super Family, who rarely rely on guns as their powers are their main strength. Given how fancy Paige's ax is, it will be interesting to see her power up or gain unique abilities.

Giving Super Family Weapons Is A Really Great Idea (And Absolutely Perfect For The Universe)

Definitely giving Superman a Gun would help sell DC's Gritter, take the Man of Steel harder.

Absolute Superman Requires 1 Base Cover: A long-haired Superman walks across a field.

Giving the Super-Family weapons is actually a pretty radical idea. While adding weapons to longtime heroes like Superman might seem awkward in the main DCU, the upcoming launch of the Absolute Universe presents the perfect opportunity to arm characters like Clark and Kara. DC has hinted that the Absolute Universe will feature stark reimaginings of fan-favorite characters. This makes it an ideal chance to equip your Absolute counterparts Superman, Supergirland Power Girl with the official weapon in a natural and non-compulsory manner.
