Ringo Starr Cancels Remaining Tour Dates Due to Doctor's Orders

Ringo Starr, 84, has cancelled the final two shows of his fall tour after falling ill.

The legendary rock star, who is on tour with the All Starr Band, announced on Tuesday that he had contracted a mild illness. “Ringo has come down with a cold and after consulting with a doctor, it has been recommended that he cancel his remaining two shows and rest,” a representative for Starr said in a press release (via People).

The canceled shows were scheduled for Tuesday evening at Philadelphia's TD Pavilion at The Mann in Philadelphia and Wednesday at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Affected ticket holders will be notified by email and automatically refunded. “As always, Ringo and the All Starrs send peace and love to their fans and hope to see them soon,” the press release concluded.

The All Starr tour kicked off in San Diego on September 7. Starr and his band had played 10 of the 12 concerts they had planned before the frontman fell ill. On September 18, the former Beatles member shared a video compilation of his favorite tour moments so far on Instagram. “I want to thank all the wonderful audiences so far – love you all,” Starr captioned the post. “Peace and love from Ringo and the boys. ๐Ÿ˜ŽโœŒ๏ธ๐ŸŒŸโค๏ธ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŒป๐Ÿฅฆ๐ŸŒˆโ˜ฎ๏ธ.”

Despite minor health issues, Starr isn't slowing down as she approaches her ninth decade. In April, Crooked Childand is currently working on a new country album with the legendary T. Bone Burnett.
