Amazon's Robocop The TV show is getting a new update and it shows that the showrunner has been brought on board. Released in 1987 and directed by Paul Verhoeven, the first Robocop the film starred Peter Weller as the titular cyborg cop. The franchise returned in 2014 for an unsuccessful reboot starring Joel Kinnaman, the property then moved to Amazon when the company bought MGM in 2022. It was later reported that Robocop A TV show was in the works, though few updates have emerged about the project since then.

now, Diversity informs that Peter Ocko joined Robocop TV show as a showman. James Wan is also involved in the series and will executive produce the project through his production company Atomic Monster. The report includes the official introduction line for the series, embedded below, which teases a premise similar to the original film:

“A giant tech conglomerate is partnering with a local police department to introduce a technologically advanced enforcer—a part-human, part-machine police officer—to combat rising crime.”

More to come…
