Stranger Things Star Gaten Matarazzo teases the ending for his character Dustin Henderson and whether or not there will be a potential spin-off. Matarazzo has played Dustin since the character debuted in season 1, Dustin has quickly become a fan favorite of the series. with Stranger Things Season 5, the end of the hit Netflix show's story, remains uncertain as to Dusty's fate and future after the series finale.
when talking to Radio Times, This was announced by Matarazzo Stranger Things Season 5 will be a fitting bookend to Dusty's story, but is open to the possibility of a spinoff. He hints at how Dustin's journey will come to a satisfying conclusion, while also discussing potential avenues he'd like to see further explored in a spinoff featuring Dustin. Matarazzo also emphasizes the necessary conditions for such a continuation. Check out his comments below:
This will definitely be a book. I think it will end very nicely. And I don't think Matt Ross is going to want to do that for a long time. So, if you asked me in a year if I wanted to come back, I'd probably say, “I'll do a little bit of different stuff at first,” but who knows what it's going to be like.
Potentially, I'd love to see if there's a Dusty sequel after this [season] 5, if any of us get to that point, I'd love to see what happens, what Dusty will look like at 30. And I'd love to see how much fun it can be.
I'd love to see what their concept would be, but yeah, I'm totally open to anything. If it's good and exciting and other people are excited to do it, sure. I think for at least the next few years I'd like to initially branch out and do other things.
What This Means for the Future of Stranger Things
Dustin Will Have A Happy Ending With No Sequel Needed
Although open to potentially continuing Dustin's story, Matarazzo's comments indicate that Stranger Things Season 5 will be the end of the character's journey. Matarazzo and the rest of the cast have been reprising their characters for nearly a decade now, given the numerous delays the final season faced. The focus, understandably, is to bring a satisfying conclusion to the seriesand not in potential spinoffs. It bodes well for season 5 to focus on creating a decent ending for its characters instead of focusing on creating new stories.
Gaten Matarazzo was 13 years old
Stranger Things
The 1st season was filmed and now he is 22 years old.
Matarazzo is careful to use expressions like “If any of us get to that point” not to give away spoilers, however Dustin's satisfaction with the book of his story speaks to the character's chances of survival.. Had the character died in season 5, it would have been harder to entertain the possibility of a 30-year-old Dustin. The fact that Dustin's mom isn't coming back for season 5 could be another sign of his survival, because it's hard to imagine her not being around this season. last season if his son dies.
Stranger Things Season 5 Is Worth the Wait
I'm glad to hear that Matarazzo wrapped up the season 5 story well and that there are no current plans for a spinoff. Game-changing twists Stranger Things The end of season 4 created an exciting final chapter for Dustin and the other surviving characters and It's more important to deliver a rewarding ending than to see the series continue indefinitely. Dustin was one of them Stranger ThingsIt's the funniest and most heartfelt characters, and it's time to see how his story culminates and explore more new career opportunities for Matarazzo.
