Over a year ago, EA CEO Andrew Wilson revealed Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was making his way towards PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Now, the publisher has announced that the game will be coming to last-gen on September 17th for $50.
The game originally launched on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S in April 2023. At the time of the current-gen announcement, Wilson suggested that the move would benefit both the game and Star Wars as a video game property.
“I would love to see more of the Jedi franchise over time,” he said last year. “It’s one of the big hits in the Star Wars galaxy this year. […] “When we release it on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, we think it will be another little leap forward for the franchise.”
While Jedi Survivor he's not the only one current generation game For older systems, it's a bit unusual for this to happen more than a year later rather than a simultaneous launch.
If (and when) owners of a last-gen console upgrade to a current-gen console, it looks like they'll have to repurchase the game at $70or an $80 cross-gen bundle that also includes Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
Star Wars Still Thrives on the Latest Generation
To date, EA has yet to provide concrete sales numbers Survived performance, although Wilson said he had “millions” of players. That comment could be read either way, given that it launched with numerous technical issues on PC.
