Sydney Sweeney Looks Unrecognizable on the Set of New Boxer Biopic

Sydney Sweeney is undergoing a major transformation for her next movie role. The 27-year-old actress will star in an as-yet-untitled biographical sports drama about boxer Christy Martin, and it's clear she's already physically taking on the role.

After the images surfaced online this week, Sweeney shared the photos himself in an Instagram post on Wednesday, wearing a mousy brunette wig and a muscle shirt, putting his gun show on full display.

“The cat's out of the bag thanks to some spots in the bushes, so here's some [behind-the-scenes] from the movie I'm currently working on,” she captioned the post. “Over the past few months, I've been immersed in training to bring to life the story of an incredible woman who is a true champion who fights both inside and out. and out of the ring. “His journey is a testament to resilience, strength, and hope, and I am honored to step into his shoes to share his powerful story with all of you.”

Martin is believed to be the most successful and prominent female boxer in the United States and is also credited with legitimizing women's participation in the sport. The movie he directed, War Machine director David Michôd is said to chronicle Martin's rise to fame in the 1990s; and later attempted murder by her husband, boxing trainer Jim Martin, whom she married in 1991. Martin eventually married former boxing rival Lisa Holewyne in 2017.

The film, which began shooting in North Carolina late last month, also stars Ben Foster, Merritt Wever, Katy O'Brian and Ethan Embry.
