Take the Paddling Safety Survey for a Chance to Win $100

This article was produced under a grant from the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund.

If you spend most of your free time paddling, you know that safety is paramount. When on the water, a few basic rules apply to every paddler, no matter where you are or how much experience you have.

The best practices are also the simplest: Wear a life jacket, outerwear appropriate for the water temperature, never paddle solo or disabled, and always check the weather forecast before heading out. These safety bollards ensure that your paddling experience does not end in disappointment, injury or even tragedy; but most paddlers are unaware of these and that is a problem.

We explore what rowers know and do to stay safe on the water. This valuable information will help save lives. Fill out this confidential survey for a chance to win one of five $100 gift cards to West Marine!

Click here for official rules. In order to participate in the raffle, you must provide your contact information. Please consider all types of rowing in which you participate.

The research was conducted on behalf of the Aquatics Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to rowing and boating safety. WSF receives nonprofit grant funding through the Sport Fish and Restoration Trust Fund administered by the U.S. Coast Guard.
