Take-Two has released its financial results for the first trimester of 2024-2025, and the publisher is “stable” as its biggest games loom on the horizon.
Both net bookings and net revenues posted modest increases for the quarter ended June 30, 2024. Bookings came in at $1.22 billion (up 1 percent from the latest 2023-2024) and revenues grew 4 percent to $1.34 billion.
The main revenue drivers for both metrics include NBA 2K24 Game, Grand Theft Auto V AND In line, AND Words with friendsHowever, consumer spending on both 2K24 AND GTA Online have decreased compared to previous years.
More substantially, Take-Two’s net loss widened to $262 million, up 27.2 percent from a $206 million loss in 2023-2024. While deeper losses are expected, CEO Strauss Zelnick expects “sequential” increases in net bookings for fiscal 2026 and 2027.
Speaking about the future, Zelnick added that the company “remains confident in its path forward. […] Our core franchises remain vibrant and our teams are working hard to deliver the most ambitious development project in our history.”
Take-Two has officially included in its list of upcoming games Grand Theft Auto VI for a fall 2025 window. It has previously been reported that the game could potentially slip to 2026a concern that pushed Rockstar back to the office mandate.
Together with GTA 6, Take-Two aims for 24 releases in next two fiscal years. Firaxis' Civilization VII is expected to be released before March 2025, while other titles include Judas, NBA 2K25, AND Tales of the County.
