Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – Best DG-58 Loadouts

Eliminate targets with perfect accuracy with these powerful DG-58 weapon builds.

Landing kills with the FR 5.56 is quite easy with no attachments, but this weapon becomes a true powerhouse once you create a build for it. In this guide, we will showcase two great builds for the FR 5.56 that make it a powerful assault rifle across all MW3. We’ll cover how to make this weapon great for general gameplay, and we’ll cover a more niche tac stance build to complete camo challenges.

Pros And Cons

MK. 3 Reflector (Optic)

SZ 1mw PEQ (Laser)

Shadowstrike Suppressor (Muzzle)

XTEN Drip Grip (Underbarrel)

  • +Aiming Idle Sway
  • +Hipfire Accuracy

RMT Grip (Grip)

  • +Sprint to Fire Speed
  • +Aim Down Sights Speed
  • -Recoil Control
  • -Gun Kick Control

Since the FR 5.56 is already pinpoint accurate, the only way you can improve this gun is by increasing its aiming stability and handling stats. We can easily do this by equipping the XTEN Drop Grip and SZ 1mw PEQ laser. Both attachments effectively remove reticle sway from this gun. For handling, we use the RMT Grip to greatly reduce the gun’s ADS speed and sprint to fire delay.

The last two attachment slots are used for utility. The Shadowstrike Suppressor hides your shots from enemy radar with no downsides, and any red dot optic will make tracking targets far easier. Add of these attachments together, and you should have no issue landing consistent headshots with this weapon.

Burst weapons are ideally used in mid-range gunfights, avoiding the fast RPM of SMGs or fast-firing ARs. The Engineer Vest is a great baseline for this loadout since it gives you a second gear slot, allowing for the use of Ghost and Mag Holster simultaneously. The Stalker Boots are quite powerful with the FR 5.56. Since you won’t be playing aggressively with this gun, we can afford to drop Covert Sneakers for more strafe speed.

For long-range fights, the Marksman Gloves are amazing since they greatly reduce incoming flinch. These perks all work together to make the FR 5.56 an incredibly consistent rifle across all MW3 maps. Since you don’t have Covert Sneakers, we highly recommend using Dead Silence to muffle your footsteps when needed.

Pros And Cons

Stovl DR Laser Box (Laser)

  • +Hip Recoil Control
  • +Hipfire and Tac Stance Spread

395mm FR Minibore (Barrel)

  • +Aim Down Sights Speed
  • +Hipfire and Tac Stance Spread
  • -Damage Range

Cronen Grooveshot Grip (Underbarrel)

  • +Aim Walking Steadiness
  • +Hipfire and Tac Stance Spread

5.56 Nato Low Grain Rounds (Ammunition)

  • -Damage Range
  • -Bullet Velocity

While not the strongest tac stance weapon, the FR 5.56 has a camo challenge that requires you to kill opponents while in tactical stance. This build aims to increase your tac stance accuracy, doing so with the Stovl DR Laser Box, 395mm FR Minibore, S-37C DL Breacher Device, and Cronen Grooveshot Grip. Since tac stance does experience some recoil, we equip 5.56 Nato Low Grain Rounds to moderately reduce the weapon’s recoil.

All five attachments will make the FR 5.56 much worse at long range, but this configuration makes it far easier to use at close range. Swap to tactical stance before pushing corners for some easy kills. You’ll want to aim for the head when possible to land one-burst kills.

Since tac stance is best used up close, this loadout is tailored more towards aggressive gameplay. The Infantry Vest allows you to tactical sprint for twice as long, something you’ll be doing quite frequently. Covert Sneakers will muffle your footsteps to make sprinting much safer, and Ghost will keep you off the minimap until you start shooting. Assault Gloves are also useful for jumpshots.

As for your equipment, we highly recommend using Throwing Knives for a quick one-hit kill with your melee or lethal. Stims are also useful for quickly healing after a gunfight. Since you have Covert Sneakers and Ghost with this build, you don’t need to use Dead Silence; use any Field Upgrade in its place.
