What Happens at the End of Atomic Blonde
Percival betrays MI6 and Broughton kills him
When Atomic Blonde begins, a Soviet assassin named Bakhtin (Jóhannes Johannesson) kills an MI6 agent named James Gasciogin (Sam Hargrave). Bakhtin then steals a special watch with a list of MI6 operatives on both sides of the Berlin Wall. The list also includes something extra special sought by MI6: the identity of Satchel, the double agent who sold secrets to the Russians and who betrayed Gasciogine. The British sent agent Lorraine Broughton to Berlin to recover the List and assassinate Satchele.
Working on both sides of the Berlin Wall and dealing in counterfeit goods, Percival completely went into business for himself.
As he lands in West Berlin, Broughton's cover is blown. The Russians try to kidnap him, though both David Percival and a French agent named Delphine Lasalle (Sofia Boutella) are on his tail. Percival takes Broughton after defeating the Russians. Eventually, working on both sides of the Berlin Wall and dealing in counterfeit goods, Percival went into business entirely for himself and abandoned his allegiance to MI6.
Broughton's mission becomes a quest to help kidnap a Stasi officer named Spyglass from the Wall, whom the Russians want killed as a traitor. While accompanying Broughton Spyglass, Percival moves and shoots Spyglass in the middle of a crowded public demonstration. once he saw Spyglass's family in a safe place because Percival couldn't have another copy of the list that Spyglass could provide. Spyglass, badly wounded by a bullet, drowns in the river.
Percival reveals that he is not Satchel and taunts that he knows everything about him.
Meanwhile, Broughton began having sex with Lasalle, who had been monitoring Percival's activities and taking photographs of Percival killing Bakhti and taking the List for himself. Broughton discovers a bug he planted in Percival's coat, allowing him to overhear most of their conversation in Berlin. Percival promptly kills Lasalle in his apartment, and in his final confrontation with Broughton, Percival reveals that he is not Satchel and taunts that he knows everything about him before executing him. With Percival's death, Broughton takes possession of the List, his mission accomplished but not complete.
