of the Union the cast is led by Wahlberg and Berry, the film relies heavily on their chemistry. For all the spy escapades and shootouts, the film is partly about two people finding each other again when they're old and wise. Unity It ends with Mike and Roxanne attending the wedding and deciding to give their relationship another trythe janitor's closet is their first destination.
Before they get there, Brennan comes over to tell Mike that he's officially part of the Union, so it looks like Roxanne and Mike are going to be private. and professional partners. The two coming together shouldn't come as too much of a shock since the entire film is built towards it. Despite all the romantic tension, Unity never shows Mike and Roxanne kissing.
Why did Nick betray the Union?
Roxanne's estranged husband is the main antagonist of The Union
of the Union The opening sees Agent Nick sent to retrieve information from a rogue CIA agent, but his team is quickly wiped out and he is shot and presumed dead. on the surface, The film looks like a face known as Colter to shock the audience when he is quickly killed off, but of course he has more to do.. Nick then resurfaces and tells Roxanne that Brennan is a traitor. But he soon learns this Nick has betrayed the Union and is working with Juliet Quinn (AKA The Auctioneer) to sell the information to the highest bidder..
Nick tells Roxanne that after risking his life and completing so many Commonwealth missions without receiving any rewards or credits, he's decided to make a change and cash out.
Nick tells Roxanne that after risking his life and completing so many missions without getting any rewards, he decided to make a change and withdraw the money. Unfortunately, this involved killing some of his former colleagues and even attempting to kill his wife. Nick was tired of the Union's founding principles, but instead of just leaving and becoming a mercenary, he wanted to use his skill set to get rich quick.
Mike's unlikely recruitment makes perfect sense
Roxanne follows Mike's headhunting logic surprisingly well
of the Union The contract has the edge of wish fulfillment as it involves a normal person living a life full of danger and excitement. But on paper It's easy to question why a top spy agency would hire someone zero experience as a spy. The script turns the answer into a story, as the stolen intelligence is revealed to anyone who served a Western-allied country – be it the police, the FBI, MI6, etc.
It takes a complete unknown to make the Union mission look like a buyer but also someone they can trust to do the right thing. So Roxanne chooses Mike, unaware that he has potential. It helps that Mike is an all-star athlete, and his construction job fits the blue-collar profile of a Union agent. While his recruitment makes sense, the fact that he has become such a cracking agent after only two weeks of training is an element of untruth.
Why the Union Only Hires Blue Collar Workers
This spy group has unusual entry requirements
According to Brennan's logic, blue-collar workers are considered invisible in mainstream society, even though they are the ones who “build cities” and run them.
Mark Wahlberg tagged him unity “blue-collar” Bond is the character, and the film makes that comparison. Mike doesn't wear fancy suits or drive fancy cars, but he does get into a lot of shootouts and fistfights. Every member of the team is also very down to earth and Brennan explains that Union only hires blue-collar people because that's who they are.”let it end.”
By Brennan's logic, blue-collar workers are considered invisible in mainstream society.build cities” and keep them running. He's looking for street smarts and hard-working people, not those who went to top universities or come from privileged backgrounds. It's a unique premise for a spy adventure. Unity could have explored this aspect further.

Why the Auctioneer Saves Roxanne
Nick's new girlfriend doesn't have his back
Jessica De Gouw's Auctioneer adds some comic relief Unity. While he may be an amoral villain trying to sell highly damaging classified information, at least he's having fun. Quinn is also revealed to be Nick's new romantic partner, however When Roxanne confronts them of the Union In the finale, instead of having his bodyguards shoot Roxanne, the Auctioneer decides to leave and let Nick open his mess.
The auctioneer leaves in part because he has nothing else to do with Nick because a clean exchange has gone bad. The film also leaves the door open for De Gouw's character to return Union 2so if there is a sequel, a return from De Gouw is a must.
The Real Meaning Behind The End Of The Union
Unity emphasizes that it is never too late to realize your potential
Unity it may revolve around spies, but it's a bubbly rom-com at its core. It works best when it focuses on the developing relationship between Roxanne and Mike, however the main message of the film is that it is never too late to change someone's life. Mike is happy with his life as it is; he may be broke, but he has lots of friends and is comfortable in his hometown. Yet there is a sense of arrested development about him, and even life has passed him by.
… in the end, Mike and Roxanne get back together and he's a badass secret agent.
Roxanne's return not only gives him a second chance with the former love of his life, but also challenges him to realize his potential. She and the others can see that, but even when Mike proves to be a natural for the job, she's still filled with doubt. Unity Wahlberg's hero takes a chance and sees if he's destined for greater things; In the end, Mike and Roxanne are reunited and he is a brave secret agent. In short, the film shows that chasing a dream is always a good thing.
How the End of a Union Builds a Continuity
Will it be Netflix's latest rom-com franchise?
of the Union Not only does Brennan welcome Mike to the organization, she tells him and Roxanne that they can only have a few days off before going back to work. Brennan sends them on a mission to Morocco, though he withholds any exact details about work. This may not be a direct installation Union 2but the film plants the franchise seed in the minds of the audience before it ends.
There's also the dangling trend of Juliet Quinn/The Auctioneer, which Roxanne vows to follow. There are some pieces that could be a potential sequel Unity could play with, but the sequel will almost certainly focus on Mike and Roxanne adjusting to being romantic and professional partners. Ultimately, it will be up to Netflix subscribers to decide whether a sequel will happenbut given its star-studded cast, it wouldn't be a huge shock.
