Shannon Sharpe has been the subject of all sorts of online mockery after accidentally broadcasting a sex act on her Instagram Live, but thankfully for the media personality, it looks like her punishment will be internet jokes.
On Wednesday afternoon, Sharpe unknowingly released an audio recording of himself and an unidentified woman sharing an amorous encounter. Initially, the former Undisputed presenter posted a statement claiming that he had been “hacked” and that “my team and I are working hard to resolve this”, which he summarily deleted. Later that evening, Sharpe admitted: “My phone was not hacked. It was not a joke, it was because I am a healthy and active male.”
Many online put two and two together, especially after the ESPN broadcaster posted his own explanatory statement on the “hacked” account. The video's emergence and Sharpe's subsequent statement were met with much mockery online.
“Bro, your team doesn't work as hard as you do,” @TheNuGeekz wrote to X (formerly Twitter).

For the last 12 hours I've been listening to Shannon Sharpe's sex video and I've been confronted with a commercial for dog meat.
I got sidetracked from mf internet for a while.

A rumor has circulated around parts of the internet that ESPN fired Sharpe, but that's not true. The rumor apparently originated from a parody account that joked that presidential candidate Kamala Harris tore her ACL during Tuesday's debate and is “out for the season.”
On Thursday afternoon, ESPN responded to the incident, saying: TMZ Sharpe will not face disciplinary action for the accidental live broadcast. Some viewers were concerned that Sharpe was not on that day's episode First TakeHowever, the channel clarified that Sharpe always has Thursdays and Fridays off.
