Beloved character actor Wendell Pierce is known for his role as Detective Bunk Moreland on the acclaimed HBO series. WireUnfortunately, he didn't get the best reception while attending Game 5 of the World Series at Yankee Stadium. The 61-year-old later took to social media to admonish his “unruly” and “disgusting” fans for ruining the experience.
“Unfortunately I just left the Yankees game because I was talking to a Dodgers fan and people were throwing things at me,” Dodgers fan Pierce wrote to X on Wednesday night. “Unruly, obnoxious people can destroy anything. Worst experience ever. The game and the experience don't matter anymore. The spirit of the sport ends with the ugliness of humanity.”

It's unclear when in the game Pierce experienced this unfortunate behavior. But that may have had something to do with the fact that the Yankees took an initial 5-0 lead, only to have the Dodgers rebound with five unearned runs to win the game by a narrow 7-6 margin. The win clinched the Dodgers' eighth franchise World Series title.
At least Pierce was able to attend an earlier game of the series without incident. Over the weekend, he shared an Instagram Reel of the Dodgers celebrating with like-minded fans after defeating the Yankees 4-2 on the team's home field at Dodger Stadium.

But while Yankees fans aren't the best sports, Dodgers fans certainly didn't get a pass after the Game 5 win. On the opposite side, fans celebrated the win by causing mayhem on the streets of Los Angeles, looting stores and even setting fire to a city bus. Maybe everyone needs to calm down a bit.
