COMB |
DIG |
ROOT |
SIFT |
If you have to get over something, maybe you GET it over. ROOTS can anchor plants to the ground, but it can also mean a mess, especially if you're trying to get to the bottom. SIFT can mean a number of things, but as an archaeologist being able to filter dirt is one of my favorite meanings and I've done a lot. Finally, combing something can mean using a comb on your hair, but it also has another meaning.

ALQ |
PEAL |
ROLL |
RUMBLE |
It took me a second to figure this out because I had forgotten the word PEAL existed. It's a good word and should probably be added to my vocabulary a bit more than I currently do. I was more aware of RUMBLE and ROLL and grouped those two together from the beginning before adding CLAP as another loud sound. After finishing the category, I realized that they were all there especially there should be words about lightningbut without this specification it made sense as a category about loud sounds.

TWIST |
After seeing BRAID and TWIST, I thought they probably went together and started looking for other options. I didn't see anything about rope or any other “twist” words that would lean more into the verb category, so I looked up THIS and he thought he might have different hairstyles. It took me a little longer to add PONY to the mix, but that was because it lost the important “tail” that would hook me up faster. Even so, I'm still glad I was able to figure it out.

BOOK IT |
SALAD |

TREE |
Ultimately, this category was something I was leaning towards but wasn't sure about. I had seen BOOK and TREE before and thought it might be something about paper or things made of paper. it was almost truebut when I came back to those words at the end, it didn't immediately make sense as I entered the last guess. It makes more sense to see it now, and I'm a little crazy about how close I am. However, I can't help but be mad to get it right and win.
