If you are having trouble following today's topic Connections then the puzzle we can help you figure it out and connect the dots. Today's puzzle was hard enough that I was relieved when I got the correct answer at the last guess, but not so bad that I started typing random words to get a quicker understanding. Most of the time I felt like I had an idea of what was going to happen in the puzzle, but I could have used a few clues to help me.
If you want to use new words Connections It teaches you, try it daily Spelling Bee puzzle. You will have to figure out which words can be made from a group of letters, all of which must include the letter in the middle hive. Today's Connections Category Tips
OCTOBER 26 #503
There are some problems in this puzzle, mostly due to the multiple meanings words. Many of these look like they could form their own category, but in reality they are not in the same category. To work around this, You have to think hard about what categories you see can be made up of four words in them and in those without. Here are four clues to help you decipher this mini-puzzle:
- One of the categories relates to how a person might feel when caught off guard
- One of the categories is about digital discussions
- One category is about household items that share a distinctive feature
- A category is about things that all have a similar shape

DON'T THROW |
This category was an interesting puzzle because I had several of these words in other possible groupings. RATTLE was with other “baby” items like CRADLE and ROCKER, and THROW was for a shorter time with SWING as a possible sport category. However, Watching FAZE made me rethink all of this and combine these four words instead. Although, I almost always use faze in conjunction with “not” to describe someone who remains calm, and it took me a moment to remember that by itself it means the opposite.

This was the first category I got today, probably because I'm deep into discussion topics for online school. I saw CONVERSATION and CHAT and started looking for other opportunities. THREAD and didn't see an immediate response until I saw it they realized they were talking about a digital conversation unlike a person. CHAIN was the last one I added since I was the one who put an end to email chains that were spreading like wildfire in the early 2000s, which is fitting in a way.

When I saw the HAMMOCK and CRADLE I started to get suspicious, but I mistakenly thought it was things made of thread. But there were a few words that fit this idea, so I moved on to things that depend on something else. It wasn't enough, ROCKER was still gone. I gave up on that idea and added ROCKER more as a hopeful guess than anything else, and luckily for me it turned out to be true.

I had almost all of these words combined with something else throughout the puzzle, and I don't know if I could have ever put those four together. I always think of ROLLER as skating even if I understand that all three of these words are the same formI would be hard pressed to have the last word. But that didn't happen, so I can say “Pew” instead and be glad I failed this puzzle.
