Today's first and last categories cover sports, and one of the achievements mentioned in this category is winning the KENTUCKY Derby, one of the last words. This can make things difficult and frustrating, but that's the key that it is specifically related to achievementnot individual events. A HOME RUN is also a potential red herring for this, so it's hard to parse what belongs where.

This is probably the easiest of all the categories today because the words are generally the most unrelated to the others. However, If you're focusing on the last category, ROLLER is a red herring because roller derby is more popular than others to me anyway. I was disappointed that it didn't fall into the latter category, but when I saw the PAINT, TAPE, and DRIP CLOSE, I knew it belonged here.

This last one was difficult for all the above potential words that could belong here. KENTUCKY, ROLLER and DEMOLITION were the first to catch my eye after seeing and instantly connecting. This was also my defeat in today's puzzle he could eliminate some red herrings before he got to it I wish I hadn't stuck to it. I was able to eliminate ROLLER after a few wrong guesses when I started looking elsewhere, but I was defeated by a bad guess and excited when I found out that CHEESESTEAK could be a derby.
