VERBS IN A CAKE RECIPE |

COOK |

FROST |
PRE-HEAT |
The thought that came back to me was that we should look for the words PREHEAT and BAKE in the oven. When that didn't work I continued to look at POUND, BEAT and THROB, which of course led me to the clue “away from one” and made it even more difficult for me.
FROST would be the key clue here, if you realize it's not because it's cold outside, but because the cake is frosting. I should have made it easier, my grandma doesn't do anything unless he bakes cakes.

POUND |
PUMP |
RACE |
DUMP |
As mentioned, I already had POUND, PUMP and THROB together, but with BEAT as opposed to RACE. A the heart beats fast when excitedso it's not necessarily a wrong answer, but it's wrong for this puzzle. The main problem was that RACE did not belong to this grouping and it took me a while to see the connection.

PASTOR |

BEFORE |
This one felt easier than the previous two. The words are different from each other and are not verbs, and they are very easy to find religious title bond between them. I probably have an advantage having taken a few religious studies classes there, but I still feel like this stands out as the easier category for today for many reasons.
Most people are at least vaguely aware that PAPA and PASTOR exist, and the other two are the only choices that really make sense.

This category may not be easier than the first two, but I think the words are more different. you can do rule out that most belong to another category because they are not verbs is like the first two categories and is what remains after the words church are removed. However, many of these references will be obscure to younger audiences unless their parents introduce them to some of them.
