Tragic Development When Marine Veterinarian Disappears After Motorcycle Accident

Authorities have released a tragic update on the case of a veteran and father who went missing following a motorcycle crash in Cedar City, Utah, last week.

On Nov. 1, the Cedar City Police Department reported that 35-year-old Marine Eduardo Gutierrez-Nava was reported missing on Oct. 29. He was last seen riding his dark silver Ducati street bike on October 28. Authorities concentrated their search on the outskirts and mountains of Cedar City. On Nov. 2, searchers found Gutierrez-Nava's remains on State Route 14. His motorcycle was found nearby. No cause of death or circumstances leading to his death have been publicly disclosed.

“Initial investigations indicate that the victim may have lost control of his motorcycle, which may have resulted in a fatal crash,” the police department said. “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones affected by this tragedy. The Utah Highway Patrol is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.” Authorities are asking anyone who was at the scene of the crash or has information about the incident to contact local law enforcement.

Gutierrez-Nava was reported missing last Wednesday after not showing up for work. A GoFundMe has been set up for his family to help cover funeral expenses. “Eddie is remembered as a devoted father, an honorable sailor, and someone deeply valued by his family and friends,” the fundraiser reads. “Funds raised will be used to cover funeral expenses to support Eduardo's family and his young son.”
