Valve's New Deadlock Announced Peaks Nearly 90,000 Players

The valve has been formally revealed Stall over the past weekend, and its closed beta reached a new peak in concurrent players shortly after.

The surprise MOBA shooter has 89,203 players as of this writing. That’s just over double the original peak of 44,512 players on August 16.

Stall existence has been known for some time, but Valve has insisted on keeping it a secret until this point. That move has sparked controversy after The Verge wrote about his time with the beta version and banned writer Sean Hollister after he ignored a plea not to talk about the beta version and spoke out about it.

For the curious, the current Stall The peak is just above the 24-hour peak for older Valve multiplayer titles like Fortress Team 2 (71,863 players) and Left 4 Dead 2 (27,904 players), plus the all-time high for the first Left 4 Dead (30,616 players).

Notably, it's also Valve's first all-new project in a while, and its most recent title since last year's Counterattack 2 AND Alyx of half life in 2020.

At the time of writing, Stall It's limited to playtesters and anyone they invite. It's unclear when Valve will release a larger, more open beta, or what other platforms the eventual, no-longer-secret game will be available for.
