Venom and Doctor Strange's new alliance sets up one of Marvel's best friendships

Warning: Spoilers for Venom #37!Poison has been the moniker of many heroes and villains who wear black suits and bond with alien symbiotes. Likewise, there are many Sorcerer Supremes and yet there is only one Doctor Strangebecause there is only one Venom. While these lauded heroes have gotten their own sequel and three movies in the MCU, it looks like they're finally sharing an unlikely comic book adventure.




This current Venom is Old Man Venom, a version of Dylan Brock from a shattered future who went back in time to save the day during the Venom War. In Poison #37 Torunn Grønbekk, CAFU, Frank D'Armata and Clayton Cowles, Venom comes to Doctor Strange in the past Before Venom is recognized in the Marvel Universe and asks for his help.

But the interesting part of this adventure is that they already knew each other as old men – now this version of Venom must prove that he is not a demon, but a demon. And Strange has a plan to do just that.

a What if scenario, the two have already met — especially as Marvel explores what would happen if Venom were to hook up with Doctor Strange. But in this world—or in the past, that is— they share a mind meld where they can enter each other's minds and know each other's deepest secrets. Looks like Wizard Ali and the so-called demon are on their way to becoming best friends.

Together, they travel to a distant world to find not only Venom's future, but Chthon to save the world. Putting an alien symbiote next to a magical wizard is a bold move by Marvel, and it showcases an interesting dynamic. Venom is constantly referred to as this demon, and as they embark on this adventure, the symbolism only grows as Venom descends into more terrifying stories. Doctor Strange is no longer the only magical character. Looks like he has a friend.


As Venom dives into the world of magic, Doctor Strange dives into the future and sees a vision of what's to come. Together, only they can stop the upcoming MCU in a way that will satisfy longtime comic book fans and fans alike. Considering that Marvel has already shown fans their friendship in the distant future, here comes the newest dynamic duo that no one expected yet – Poison and Doctor Strange.
