The Mediterranean is full of giant superyachts like Venus, a $130 million vessel commissioned by Steve Jobs before his death. But money can't buy everything, including protection from other ships.
A video began circulating on social media showing the Venus colliding with another massive boat, the Lady Moura, which has a similarly high price tag. Jobs didn’t get to see the Venus himself, so today it belongs to his wife, philanthropist and investor Laurene Powell Jobs. It all happened last month off the coast of Naples, Italy.
“On July 22nd while at anchor, Venus made contact with the Lady Moura, which was also at anchor. There was no family on board, only the crew. The wind suddenly changed, going from a breeze to 55 knots in a matter of minutes,” he wrote in a statement on the subject. Both captains began discussing minor repairs immediately after the incident.”

The original video of the incident was shared by Mexican businessman Ricardo Salinas, owner of the $125 million Lady Moura. In the caption, Salinas said that the Venus crew was responsible for what happened.
“I would like to know what caused the captain and crew not to see a yacht as big as mine in front of me,” he said. “It's a good thing it was just a scratch, but it's a big scratch and [cost] “There's a lot to fix.”

Needless to say, Salinas wasn't too impressed: “We'll continue to enjoy our vacation.”
