Deadpool and Wolverine Director Shawn Levy announced New York Times He explained why he felt “nauseated” after Henry Cavill's impressive cameo in the superhero-teaming film.
In the early period Deadpool and WolverineDeadpool must travel across multiple universes to find a version of Wolverine that will help him save the world. Most of these versions of Wolverine are played by Hugh Jackman, but there is one called “Cavillrine.” Justice League This cameo is a reference to a long-running online rumor that Cavill was originally set to take on the role of Wolverine. Wonders (which turned out to be incorrect) and then Deadpool and Wolverine (which also turned out to be true).
The scene, which lasts about 30 seconds, features Deadpool making some predictably crude jokes towards Cavillrine, before the cigar-chomping hero takes out his claws and banishes Deadpool from his universe.
It was a short, humorous scene, but Cavill was reportedly so invested in the part that he made himself sick in the days following production. “Poor Henry Cavill,” Levy lamented New York Times“Not only does he have a muscular body, but he also lights up his cigar and takes it out of his mouth throughout the day of the shoot.”
The director continued: “I remember hearing the next day that Henry was feeling nauseous from inhaling cigar smoke for eight hours, but he didn't hesitate for a moment.”
Levy did not specify why Cavill felt compelled to smoke a real cigar for the film. Typically, film productions offer herbal alternatives to simulate tobacco and marijuana consumption. Sometimes, actors will “smoke” an unburned scene that is then made to appear to burn with digital effects. Smoking a real cigar is generally considered the least convenient method, both in terms of continuity and safety.
But Cavill himself hinted at why he took a realistic approach when he broke his silence about the surprise guest appearance on August 6. After much-criticized reshoots and post-production Justice League In this film, where the actor's moustache was digitally replaced with a very strange-looking upper lip, he didn't want to leave anything to chance with his performance.
“To be safe, I shaved my mustache for this. Just my mustache [sic]”” Cavill wrote under Cavillrine's profile view.
