Glen Powell and Ryan Gosling have had tremendous success over the past year, thanks in part to Gosling playing the lead role. Barbie and Powell's rise in the movies Hurricanes And Anyone But YouThe two actors aren't in competition with each other, but that doesn't seem to stop some Hollywood insiders from comparing them.
In a recent interview WindingAn unnamed Hollywood producer has offered his thoughts on Powell's rising stardom after Gosling's decades of success in the showbiz industry.
“Glen Powell is definitely a rising movie star in the sense that audiences are now going to the cinema to see him,” the unnamed producer said. “Unlike an actor like Ryan Gosling, who has an appeal that is largely limited to female audiences, Glen appeals to both women and men.”
Powell did not like this comment and Hurricanes The star wasted no time in defending Gosling and his work in the industry over the years.
“Gosling is a legend. I'm just Glen,” Powell wrote to X on August 27.

His post reads as follows: Barbie The poster's tagline, which similarly makes Gosling the butt of the joke, is: “He's everything. He's just Ken.” It's also a reference to the surreal “I'm Just Ken.” Barbie The musical number earned Gosling an Oscar nomination in addition to his Best Actor nomination for his portrayal of Ken, the iconic version of Barbie.
Gosling himself has yet to respond to the comparison, but he likely doesn't need to, as Powell also acknowledges that the Canadian actor's work speaks for itself.
