Fortnite the new Day of Doom mode is now available for all players to try out and is a great way to complete quests and earn XP. This new limited time mode (LTM) takes inspiration from Marvel comics, pitting teams of heroes and villains against each other using iconic items from Marvel lore. In Day of Doom, players are divided into two teams: Doom's Henchmen and Avengers Allies.
To win, the Henchmen of Doom must collect six Hidden Artifacts that periodically spawn from the sky and crash to the ground. Fortnite the island. A player who manages to collect a hidden Artifact becomes one of Doom's Chosen, donning the armor of a Marvel superwitch and wielding her powers against enemy players.
As usual Fortnite matches, being Doom's Chosen makes the player nearly invulnerable. However, since Day of Doom is a team-based mode, Doom's Chosen is more vulnerable to team-based attacks.
Doom's Chosen can have powers like the Scorch Beam, a powerful continuous beam weapon that deals high damage to players and structures, and the Mystic Gigabomb, an AOE burst attack.
If Doom's Chosen is killed, another player will be randomly selected to take up the mantle.
As one of Doom's Henchmen, players also unlock a specific payload:
- Dr. Doom's secret gloves
- Mythic quality Combat Assault Rifle
- Shockwave Grenade
- The Monarch Pistol and Sovereign Shotgun are collected by the team after one and two Hidden Artifacts respectively.
Once all six Arcane Artifacts have been collected, players on the hero team cannot respawn. To win, Doom's Henchmen must simply eliminate the remaining players.
So the Avengers Allies must stop Doom's Henchmen from collecting the Hidden Artifacts. They have to score enough points to win. Doom's Henchmen only have a limited number of repawns, and once they run out, the Avengers will win. To aid in the fight, players have access to four different downloads, each based on a different Marvel hero:
Essentially, Doom's Henchmen must collect all the Hidden Artifacts, while the Avengers' Allies must stop them and score enough points to win. Doomsday is a pretty fun departure from the typical Fortnite game and offers a more team-oriented experience with guaranteed access to many of this season's best items and weapons.
Based on my experience in two rounds of Doomsday, this mode is a fairly chaotic battle with lots of powerful superhero items and super villain powers. The only real tactic to win is to be careful Track each Hidden Artifact that falls from the sky, instantly secure its location by flooding with allies, and build and rebuild structures physically preventing the enemy team from entering it.
Unfortunately, the fight against the Avengers seems a bit balanced right now, as it's still hard to stop one of Doom's Chosen. However, playing Day of Doom is extremely rewarding for completing challenges and unlocking Battle Pass XP rewards, making it a great and fun way to level up. Fortnite Battle passage.
