Adam Sandler finally revealed the secret behind his famously laid-back fashion style in a TikTok post that went viral on Sunday, August 25.
Sandler, 57, is known not just for his movies, but also for the lasting impact he has left on Hollywood. But in addition to his films and beloved characters, Sandler has become something of a fashion icon, believe it or not. He often eschews high fashion and designer brands in favor of basketball shorts and simple polos. His colorful, informal style has become a topic of much debate over the years.
Over the weekend, Sandler caught up with the person behind the TikTok account @mysteryfashionist, which has more than 58,400 followers. The actor explained his unique sense of style, saying his fashion decisions aren’t planned in advance. He usually wears “whatever is in the closet,” which is usually crazy shorts, eye-catching basketball shoes and a T-shirt he can throw on.
“It just happens. I didn't really think about it,” Sandler said of the outfit he wore in the video.
“There are sneakers. There are some stupid shorts. I wear this to cover that,” he added, pointing to his jacket and patting his stomach, “and then I bought this to cover more.”
Sandler added, “I grab whatever's in the closet. I think I got a bunch of the same socks. The underwear is similar. I grab that. I don't think too much about it. Most people in my family make fun of me, but I just keep moving.”
As for the fashion items Sandler can't live without, let's just say he's a simple guy: He appreciates unique socks, well-fitting shoes, knee-length shorts, and crazy T-shirts.
