North Beach Games Opens Studio in Prague to Support Itself and Smaller Developers

Publisher North Beach Games is expanding internationally and opening a new studio in Prague.

The branch will be led by Creative Director and CTO Sam Edwards, along with General Manager Tomáš Pšenička. Its core team will be based in Prague, while some staff will work remotely.

Primarily, the new North Beach team is tasked with creating and supporting more survival crafting games. This task extends to assist smaller third-party studios, providing them with a “technical, design and artistic resource.”

“The company’s mission is to… provide the world’s best independent developers with the support and resources they need to successfully create and launch games around the world,” North Beach wrote.

The developer already has a third-party partner in Free Range and Middle-earth Enterprises with The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria. Along with the “expansion and support” of its publishing arm, it is developing Stranded at depth 2 and other internal projects using the Unity and Unreal engines.

“After all the market and industry volatility over the past year, it feels like the right time to begin this new chapter in our business, charting our path toward a positive future for our company,” wrote North Beach CEO John Miller.
